§ 252-3. Preparation of garbage and rubbish for collection.

A.Every person owning or occupying premises in the Borough shall provide and maintain, in good, serviceable condition, containers for garbage and rubbish as follows:(1)For garbage, leakproof cans with lids, with maximum capacity of 28 gallons;(2)For rubbish, containers with maximum capacity of 32 gallons.B.All garbage shall be drained of liquid and stored in the container while awaiting collection, and the cover shall be kept on the container at all times except while being filled and emptied. The garbage containers shall be stored out-of-doors in a location convenient for pickup by the Borough collectors.C.All rubbish, except as hereinafter otherwise permitted, shall be stored in the container while awaiting collection. No filled container shall exceed 75 pounds in weight. The only rubbish that will be picked up when not in a container shall be: (a) brush, which must be bundled and tied, such bundles not to exceed four feet in length; and (b) newspapers, which shall be either bundled and tied, or boxed. All rubbish shall be placed at the curbline prior to collection.
